Why this directory exists
A custom home is the biggest construction contract most families ever sign, and finding the builder usually starts with a search that mixes custom builders with renovators, framing crews, realtors and condo sales offices. Google files them all under the same few categories, and a map pin does not tell you who actually builds a house to your plans on your lot.
I built this directory to sort that out. Every builder here is open, has customer reviews, and either describes building custom homes on its own website or is filed by Google as a custom home builder. Each listing shows what the builder says it does, from in-house design to teardowns, cottages and energy-efficient builds, and says plainly when we do not know. Subdivision sales offices that sell only fixed models are left out.
I work in local search, so I know how much of what ranks is out of date or thin. This is meant to be the opposite: one province, one trade, kept current, and corrected the same week when a builder tells us something is wrong.
How listings are vetted
Google files renovators, framers, realtors and condo sales offices under home builder categories too. We read every business's own website and kept the ones that describe building custom homes, plus the businesses Google files as custom or home builders whose sites say too little to tell. Subdivision sales offices that sell only fixed models are left out.
Tarion registration, HCRA licences and association memberships are shown as each builder states them on its own site. We do not verify them, so check the builder in the HCRA's Ontario Builder Directory before you sign.
Right now that is 1,765 custom home builders in 126 Ontario cities, last refreshed 2026-10-19.
Owners can claim their listing for free. Every claim is checked by a person: a real local business, a matching email domain or a call to the number on the Google listing. Paid placements are marked as featured, premium or best-of wherever they appear.
Corrections and removals
If a listing is wrong, or you want your business removed, tell us. We answer within a week and rebuild the directory with the change.
