About OakWood Designers & Builders

OakWood Designers & Builders is a fourth-generation, family-run design and build firm in Ottawa, owned and operated by the Liptak family and established in 1956. In-house designers and architectural design services sit alongside construction, so a project moves from concept and 3D design to construction plans under one team. It builds custom homes and multigenerational homes designed to be energy-efficient, healthy and technology-enabled, and works on estate lots and infill lots as well as renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, ADUs and commercial projects. The team handles feasibility studies, budgeting, engineering, permits and Committee of Adjustment applications where needed. Design studios are open to visit, and the firm is owned by women.
